The plant Dhatura can reach to 2m in height, the leaves of this plant are 10-12cm long and 5-18cm broad, the flower is trumpet-shaped, the fruit is 4-10cm long and 2-6cm broad that splits open when it is ripe to release more seeds. In addition, the colour can vary from white to yellow, pink and also pale blue.
It also has different types like Datura stramonium, Datura alba, Datura fastuosa, Datura inoxiamill etc.

In Ayurveda, Dhatura is classified as Upavisha because it is less toxic and shows its side effects on consumption only. This plant is harmful without the Sodhana process because it is the process of purification.
