Home Remedies to De-Tan:
There are some natural ingredients known to remove tan easily & work effectively.
Mix a little turmeric with yogurt, make a paste out of it. Apply it on your face, neck & hands and leave it for 20 minutes daily. Alternatively, you can add orange juice to yogurt, prepare a mask and apply. Orange helps in regeneration of skin cells, improves skin texture whereas yogurt acts as natural bleach & keeps your skin supple.
They have antioxidant property. They prevent excessive production of oil and also gives your skin a nice glow along with removing tan. Take half a tomato and rub it on the tanned area in such a way that the seeds and juice of tomato must come in contact with the skin. Use twice or thrice weekly.
Potato helps and prevents suntan. It’s quite easy to use. Cut a slice and rub it on tanned area. You can mix lime juice with potato (grind potato & squeeze out the juice), apply and wash with cold water.
- Lime Juice
Apply a few drops of lime juice to your skin, leave it for 15 minutes & then wash off. Use once a week. Or you can even use sugar too as it is a great cleansing agent & can help in sun tan removal. Just mix little sugar with lemon juice and apply as a mask.
Cucumber is quite soothing. It hydrates the skin & opens the pores. You can simply take 1 slice and rub it all over your skin. Cucumbers are helpful in removing suntans and treating sunburns. Another method is to prepare a pack-grate the cucumber & tomato, then add turmeric powder, gram flour & honey. Add milk or cream if you have dry skin and curd if you have oily skin. Apply this pack on tanned areas, let it rest for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water.
With these easy methods, you could easily prevent and treat suntans. However, do use the right protection before stepping out in the sun.
